OLD DLMEDIA Server Dies - 11/13/09Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
The Old Dlmedia server has officially gone into the bit bucket.  If you have any files that were linked to on the server, we have them backed up.  However, we need you to contact Brett McDaniel via email at brett.mcdaniel@uky.edu.  He will help you get the files moved so your class can continue this semester.

We seem to be experiencing some inconsistant problems with people who access Blackboard through the MyUK portal.  TASC is suggesting that you use the following link: https://elearning.uky.edu.  We also suggest that you bookmark the login page and use your bookmark to save time.

The Teaching & Academic Support Center (TASC) has been working to create the following Technology Toolkit to support continuity in instructional delivery in the case of disruption by a widespread illness or other circumstances. However, this toolkit may be helpful to many of you who are already using technology in the teaching process on campus. This toolkit is a work that will continually evolve as newer technologies become available. Here is the link to the Teaching and Technology Toolkit.

TASC strongly recommends that Blackboard instructors set major project and test deadlines for 5pm (rather than midnight or other late hours) on the due date so that if a problem occurs Information Technology Customer Service Center (IT CSC) and, if necessary, specialized Blackboard technicians, have adequate time to troubleshoot the problem. (If you make that change of due date/time, please remember that it may call for an update to your syllabus.) The CSC phone number is 257-1300. Callers who are in a testing or timed situation should alert the representative early in the call.
o CSC Hours are 7am-midnight M-Th; 7am-6pm Fri.; and 1pm-midnight Sunday.
o Bb technicians are available 8am-5pm M-Fri.
o Testing or timed situations that require a Bb tech's attention are escalated immediately.

Blackboard has been updated to the latest Service Pack. This service pack corrects several issues throughout the system, including a few performance realted fixed. If you have any questions please contact the UKIT Customer Service Center.

The way that Blackboard 9 works now is to send you a message when your course is made available. However, the course duration dates are set for the course by your instructor. You will not see the course under your courses until the start date that your instructor has selected for the start of the course for students.
