For machines that are not going to be members of the University's Active Directory, you will need to manually supply the system with the Key Management Server information.

Windows 8.1 32-bit (Off campus network)
For users that do not wish to join their Windows 8.1 Machine 32-bit to the Active Directory, they will need to purchase the version of Windows 8.1 from the On-The-Hub Network.

UKAT recommends purchasing Windows 8.1 for $9.75 from OnTheHub for employees that are not regularly connected to AD/MC. This will also give them their very own personal license key that they can keep even if they leave the university.

Remote Office Locations

Users working from remote offices may wish to check with their local IT administrators before attempting to install Windows 8.1. Depending on your network connection back to UK you may not require the VPN client in order to connect to the Licensing server. Users that connect to UK via an intermediate Internet Service Provider may need to install the VPN client, and make regular connections to the VPN server in order to maintain their licensed state.
