Workaround found for two Grade Center error messages

Two of the Grade Center error messages that Instructors have run into are 'An error occurred. Contact the System Administrator', and 'Either you are not logged in or you do not have the appropriate privileges to perform this action'.

It has been found that these error messages can be caused when the Grade Column is not assigned to a Category. To fix this, the Instructor can go into 'Edit Column Information' from the drop-down menu in the column header of the Grade Column in question. In the 'Edit Column Information' page, scroll down to the bottom of section 1 to assign the Grade Column a Category and then Submit.

Once the Grade Column is assigned to a Category, the Instructor will then be able to view the 'View Attempt' page by selecting one of the following:

select 'Attempt MM/DD/YY Needs Grading' from the Grade Column:Student cell
select 'View Grade Details' from the Grade Column:Student cell and then 'View Attempt'
select 'Grade Attempts' from the column header of the Grade Column

Please Note: this may not resolve the error messages Instructors have been receiving when they try to 'Grade Attempt' or 'Clear Attempt' from the 'View Attempt' page. We suggest the Instructor backtracks to the 'Grade Details' page and uses 'Clear Attempt' or 'Edit Grade' from there.
