Blackboard is upgrading hardware at their Washington D.C. site to increase the reliability and performance of the SafeAssign product.
 
During this upgrade, SafeAssign will be unavailable from 8 AM to 11:59 PM on August 13th, 2011. 
 
Students and Instructors attempting to submit (including DirectSubmit) papers or access Reports during this downtime will receive an error message. 
 
Blackboard projects the following benefits to Faculty and Students:
  • Increased processing capacity (increased reliability)
  • Faster reporting
  • Faster responsiveness of the vendor to resolve slowdowns in processing
  • Lays the groundwork for future expansion
