The window closing has to do with the portal page that the registrar makes available. It has nothing to do with Blackboard.

The department secretary may know how to get grades submitted after the deadline. Alternatively, the instructor could call the Registrar's Office. They have sometimes worked with individual faculty who miss that deadline for whatever reason.
