Grading an Assignment

To view and grade attempts individually:

1) Make sure you are in the course in which you would like to work, with Edit Mode ON.

2) In the Control Panel, select Full Grade Center within the Grade Center section.

3) Once in the Full Grade Center, browse to find the Column that is associated with the Assignment that you wish to grade.

4) Mouse over the cell in the Column that contains the assignment you want to grade and select View Grade Details from the Action Link (drop-down) menu.

5) Once in the Grade Details page, select the View Attempt option to the right of the assignment you want to grade (if you have allowed multiple attempts, make sure you select the correct attempt).

6) If applicable, use the associated Rubric to grade the assignment.

7) Within the Grade Assignment Page you can:

-Navigate to Submission History to find and click on uploaded assignment document link

- Enter a Grade

- Enter any comments either as Feedback to User or as Notes to yourself

-Browse your Computer of Blackboard Content Collection to attach edited/graded assignment documents as Feedback

-Submit, this will save the grade and return to to the Grade Details page

8) From the Grade Details page you can navigate through the students or Grade Columns by selecting the [<] and [>] buttons, as well as [Jump to...] any particular Student and/or Grade Column you wish.

 

Access documents all at once using the 'Assignment File Download' option:

1) Make sure you are in the course you would like to work in.

2) In the Control Panel, select Full Grade Center within the Grade Center section.

3) Once in the Full Grade Center, browse to find the Column that is associated with the assignment you wish to grade.

4) Select Assignment File Download from the Action-Link (drop-down) menu located in the column header.

5) In the Download Assignment page, you have the option to individually check the students from which you wish to download assignments, or check the top box for all students.

6) In the new page, click Download Assignments now to receive a .zip file. Be sure to save the zip file to a location from which it can be retrieved easily.  Once saved to your computer, you can open the zip file and grade the assignments.

7) To grade the assignment you have downloaded in Microsoft Word, you may insert comments in each student file, add comments in color or in bold, or use the Track Changes feature in Word, and then you must save the file under a different filename.
