Microsoft Lync Web Scheduler
The Microsoft Lync Web Scheduler is a browser based tool that allows you to quickly schedule a Lync online meeting or conference call without the need for Microsoft Outlook. This guide will help you get started using this new tool to schedule and edit Lync online meetings and conference calls.
The beauty of this tool is that it will work from just about any computer or handheld device that has Internet access and a web browser! The list of operating systems and devices it will work on are:
- Windows
- Linux
- Mac
- iPhone
- iPad
- Android Smartphones
- Android Tablets
- Windows Phone 7
- Windows Tablets
One example is this allows for the ability to schedule a conference call from a smartphone phone and then call into the meeting from the same phone!

After signing in, the main screen will appear to be blank for a few seconds while the page loads, so it will end up looking like the following:

This is natural, and after a few seconds the main screen will appear. At that any meetings that you have previously scheduled with Outlook, or this tool, will appear. Any meeting that was not configured through the Web Secheduler cannot be modified with it and will show up stating that fact.

However, from here you can join the meeting or copy the meeting's details by clicking on the appropriate tabs.
When you are ready to create a new meeting click the Create New Meeting link.

This will bring up the meeting scheduling page where you can enter all the details about the meetings and the participants you want to email the meeting invitation to.

When you save the meeting, the meeting invite is sent to any participants you have listed. You will automatically be emailed the meeting request regardless of whether meeting participants were listed or not.
After your meeting has been created and saved, it will then show up in the meeting list on the left side of the Lync Web Scheduler Screen.

The meeting can be edited and the participant list can be changed whenever it is necessary. Any meetings created via this Lync Web Scheduler will have to be managed from here as well.
Finally, when the meeting is no longer needed, it can be deleted by highlighting the meeting and clicking the Delete Meeting button. You will then see a dialog box asking for confirmation before the meeting is removed.

That is a quick description of the features of the Lync Web Scheduler. Hopefully this tool will be useful for those meetings that can not be scheduled via Outlook for whatever reason.
