NetBlue Access

Connecting to SWEB/Locker from a Mac

Introduction

The Student Locker system was merged with the Student Web Server (SWEB) in January 2008. The new name for this service is NetBlue. This document provides instructions on how to access personal files on the NetBlue server.

Connecting to NetBlue

There are three basic ways to connect to your NetBlue account from a Macintosh:

  • Web Browser
You can upload and download files to your NetBlue account via a web browser using the Web File Manager. Log in with your link blue user ID and password. Although other browsers may work, we recommend using Safari or FireFox.
  • SFTP Access
For point-and-click SFTP access, use Fetch or Fugu.
For command line access, use Terminal.
Connection instructions can be found on our [[remote connections]] page.
  • AFP Access
To connect directly to the NetBlue server via AFP, select "Connect to Server" from the Go menu in the Finder menubar. Type "afp://locker.uky.edu" in the Server Address field and click Connect. You will be prompted to enter your link blue user ID and password. You will then be asked to select the volumes to mount; highlight your userID and click OK. Your NetBlue folder will appear as a shared volume on your desktop that you can access like any other mounted drive.

General Information about NetBlue

Please see the official SWEB/NetBlue website.
